three forms drawing

Today I experienced drawing objects that were right infront of me. Before this activity started I was relieved, finally there was an assignment where I could just sit and draw what I see without having to guess whats there or find some creative way of drawing something. Once I started I realized it was a lot harder than I thought. It was difficult for me to blend the black with the white and make a good shade. Even though this was difficult I still enjoyed it a lot. I really like just drawing and seeing what happens.

Talk and draw

The challenging part of this experiment was trying to describe and object to someone who could not see it. Its really hard to think of the correct adjective to say so that the person would understand what they were supposed to draw. Also it was hard being the drawer and having the describer forget to say something important as they were trying to tell you what to do, when this happens you dont know a key thing, like where to put the object or what color to use. What I would have done differently is I would have thought more about the way to describe some of the objects instead of giving up and letting her know what was there.

Collaborative Drawings

Having to work on something someone else created is not easy. The second the drawings are switched most of the time you have no clue what to do. There are many things where you just do not understand where the previous student was going with this. Most of the time I felt like I was going to mess up what this person was doing and that I was making the wrong thing, but then I realized that nothing is the wrong thing. Returning to my drawing felt weird seeing what I had just been working on with all of these new ideas. My first reaction was that feeling of being angry at what happened to my beautiful trees. Then when I stepped back to take a look at it, I realized that the new people that came did some things that were very creative that I would never think to do. This made me realize that when two people see the same thing they might think something completely different.

Who is an artist? What does an artist need to be productive and creative?

An artist is somebody who uses their imagination to create something beautiful. For an artist to be productive they need to be able to focus and use their imagination, they need to remember that nothing they make is the wrong thing. To be creative they need to let their mind wander, try new things and express themselves threw their artwork.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

When you are young you are creative and see things in your own way. As you get older you start to learn how things really are so you have one way of looking at something and do not have as big of an imagination. This quote is saying that it is difficult for people to be creative if your only looking at things in one way.
